Shiny New Flash Portfolio

Although it’s still in progress, I invite you to take a look at my new portfolio page! It’s now at a point where it’s presentable, although there are still some features I haven’t implemented or finished straightening out. Although it’s been a lot of work the past couple of days, it’s been really fun to program, and while CS people will still be disappointed in me, I’ve noticed a big difference in the clarity and structure of my code. :) I’m making progress! I’ll probably have OOP all figured out about the time I graduate and get a job where they won’t need me to program at all.

As you can see by the non-functional navigation, I have lots more planned for this site – a full migration of my old one, in fact. There have been a couple of usability issues that have come up that I need to give some thought to, so the rest of the site won’t be here overnight, but it’s pretty exciting to me at the moment, so expect progress in the near future.

I’m looking for user comments on design and usability, so if you have something to tell me about it please post here or email me your comments.

    I guess you still haven’t fixed the issues with the “More” button? I really wish I could help you with that, but I’m really less help in AS3 than you think I am ^.^;;

    Additionally, I notice that scrolling in either direction clips to the image on the left, which means that occasionally scrolling to the right doesn’t quite uncover the next image. It’s not so much of a problem, but seeing how nicely you clip to the left side makes me think you could do the same on the other side.

    And while yes, your code does still have a high WTF/min value, it is getting better from what I’ve seen. I just sometimes wish you would let me help you with the initial design so you can see the kinds of things you need to look out for.
